How to maintain the ranking position?

We have been doing local SEO for multiple sites and we can be able to go top but after a few months gradually it is going down. How can we hold the position? Shall we do PBN or social networking?

As mentioned above, updates seem to work rather well, more than I would have thought

Apparently Google keeps the last 20 versions of a page in its database, and only after the 20th update it would "forget" the initial version of a page from 20 revisions earlier

That's somewhere in the leaked papers
 
If you are building backlinks, do that, update your existing contents as per the trends and optimize your website.
 
Thanks for the reply guys. Yes we are updating the sites with new blogs Do we need to rewrite the existing articles?
 
Your site is not in a vacuum. If your competitors upped their game, you need to, too. There's nothing you can do to eliminate fluctuations completely because your competitors are constantly trying to overtake your position.

update good content usually bro. I think it is best way
 
Add some LSI keywords on content below. fill up the content gap. Make sure you are doing regulate base foundation backlinks. Then take some high authority Guest Post or Haro links from DA 90+ websites. Make sure your hosting is up to date.

Keeping local SEO top spots is like tending a garden. You gotta keep planting good stuff (fresh content, reviews) and weeding out the bad (weak backlinks, outdated info). Social media helps, but avoid tricks like PBNs .

Focus on consistent NAP, update the content on your site frequently, one way to do this is through blogs.

In my point of you , focusing with your content and relevancy is the major factor to sustain with stable ranking position at SERP.
 
I would say take a holistic approach, so keep producing and updating content, improve UX where possible, leverage social media, and build links consistently, even if the page ranks well, to ensure it maintains its ranking.
 
Always do some Quality backlinks. And, update your content
 
PBN is not good, there is quantities but no quality, if you have good website of guest posting, its better then pbn
