I am promoting an app via Instagram and currently have the Appstore link on my profile page. The link works just fine, but I would like to track how many times the link is used by unique users. I know I would be able to easily do this with bitly or goo.gl, except for the fact that IG disallows them. Is there some other way? Really appreciate any help you can provide.

I meant to put a ? in the title, but oh well. Can anyone help with my question? I want to link from an IG account to the App store, but have a record of how much traffic the IG account is responsible for.

One way you can do is, shorten link using bit.ly and use unique link for each account and you can track how much accs bring more traffic

If you shorten appstore link you will have no problems. bit.ly links work just fine if your link/website is whitehat

Bit.ly is a redirect, people who say it is not allowed by instagram are retards. Having a bit.ly link is EXACTLY EQUAL to having the same site that the bit.ly redirect is going to.

    For example,

    if bit.ly/example redirects to www.swag.com,

having bit.ly/example OR having www.swag.com in my instagram bio is the exact same thing to Instagram.

Begs the question then. How are the "mainstream" marketers promoting their products. We''ve all seen that stupid bra thing that has the pull strings on it. That was being promoted by dozens and dozens of silicon enhanced women on Insta. Are they all putting website links in their bio? (Because I'd assume that would cause problems) Or just tagging the bra company?
