I am a noob and I wanna start a blog, but I need to learn SEO first.

Where can I learn SEO?

I'd rather not have to pay...

You should start with keyword research first. Find a niche and find a bunch of keywords related to your niche. After you get a few articles posted to your blog you can focus on SEO.

If you already have the above step completed you can find a ton of information on SEO on this forum and on Youtube.

Start with learning what is on page seo and during this process you can outsource a bit of your offpage seo and learn along the way.
 
I would suggest grasping things one by one. Start with how to write good content and then learn on-page SEO optimization.

Once you have started implementing those, it's time to switch to offline SEO such as promotion and backlinking. Everything needs time but within 6 months, you will able to understand most of the SEO stuff for free.

Start with learning the SEO basics and White Hat SEO. After continue with Black Hat SEO to get advanced knowledge. Use Google, YouTube and BHW. Coding also helps a lot in terms of Black Hat SEO.
