I keep seeing people saying they have a certain number of backlinks, how do you know this?

I post of forums flickr, facebook
is there a software or something im missing

I have google analytics webmaster

use google and search for ''backlink checker'' . you will find several sites where you can check them. I don't know how accurate they are

this will show you all backlinks towards any pages on your site, except links from your own site (internal links). You can only scrape maximum 1000 results.

You get a membership with them and you can see a lot more links than you can with yahoo. They also tell you if they are n0f0llow and other info. They have their own distributed crawler cluster similar to Google's.
