Up to OS 5.1.1 download redsnow and the appropriate Ipsw for your device. 6.0 or higher and you will have to wait for a solution. You don't need to buy anything and there are plenty of tutorials out there. Is post a link if I could but I'm sure you'll find it if you search.

If you are on IOS 5.1 then you can you greenpoison's tool (Absinthe) for untethered jailbreak.

Go to Nearest Jail in Your city alonf with your Ipad.....Try to break through the jail while holding your Ipad in your Hand....
