How to introduce yourself?

I live in a different country from where I was born, and here, people find really hard to get names like mine..

So what could I do? Invent a nickname?

Nicknames is a good solution. I have a friend that everyone calls Z, no idea how to say his real name though. You'd probably need something more professional than a single letter in the case that this is for a business proposal of some sort.
 
James is simple enough. Ive met a few Mary's and John's in my time who's real name turned out to be something mental like Marinuncanrfakhe. So its definitely not uncommon.

Yeah I know.

Problem is, you introduce yourself with a nickname, good.

But then, when you have to like sign papers or stuff like that, how to introduce your real name?

Try the first letter of your name or something.
 
Write your real name on a piece of paper then screw up the paper and throw it at your clients head.
Alternatively you could turn it into a paper plane and aim for their heads.
 
You introduce yourself like "Hi my name is [your real name] but everyone calls me Joe" or whatever nickname you decide to use. This way they're aware of your real name but you've given them permission to call you by the shorter, easier to pronounce, nickname. No problems.
 
Yeah I agree with mimissor. This is the route I would go as well.

Do you mind telling us which country this is? I would just stick to King because it's not like it's hard to pronounce or anything.
 
Don't worry about trivial stuff like this. Just make a deal. I've sold thousands of $ worth of work where my business card had only the first name and the proposals where signed only by the customer.
 
Change your first name if no one can pronounce or spell it. The Chinese especially need to do this. Many Indian telemarketers get their name from watching soapies.

+1 :) It always works good, I used to deal with several offshore foreigners while studying in the UK, and they always introduced themselves in the same manner, which was pretty natural.
