Hey Everyone!

I've been building sites for about 2-3 years now and use wordpress as my CMS. I've been fortunate to have only ever created sites from scratch for clients, setting up hosting and domain etc.

I'm now in a position where I'm taking on a client who has a site that looks like it was built in the 1800s haha, and it is clear that it is not using wordpress.

Any experience on how I should go about installing wordpress on their site? I have all the information so don't care if the original design gets deleted, I just have to use their original domain.

Is this as easy going into cpanel and installing wordpress directly on? Should I point the domain to a new hosting account with wordpress installed? Or are there additional steps?

Any advice or resources would be much appreciated thank you!

Get all data from site, back it all up, delete everything on cpanel from original hosting. Then just install wordpress, restore content.

1. Go to cpanel
2. Go to file manager
3. Delete everything under public_html (it's better to back up them first)
4. Install wordpress

Appreciate it lads! Saved me a lot of time figuring this out on my own, cheers!
