    Good for starters.

When I tried to setup WP for the first time, I searched all folders for an install.exe :D

There is no need to change the wp-config. My memory maybe a little foggy but its as simple as this with no need to manually change the config file as described in the above video.

Create database in cPanel. Take note of details entered ie database_name and database_username and database password.
Upload wordpress via FTP to domain.
    visit domain via browser.
    Click create wp-config
Enter username, database name and database password.
    leave localhost as it is.

    Simples.

"HOmERCIdAL" I follow same method shared by you to install wordpress in local host. But for online blogs and sites my webhost offer one click wordpress installation service. So, do not do it manually.

Im all for one using fantastico or softlicious myself but when you have an unmanaged VPS that does not come with either of the above scripts then the easiest method is what I have described above.

Like deepkg the clue was in the title. Also what he was offering is a valuable thing for people as they will at some point encounter hosting with different control panels and perhaps a scriptless one like the one i use.

How do you install on cpanel?... I thought you install wp on a webspace/server...

Also you don't need to edit wp-config.php

ehm, actually most hosters have automatic tools to install WP - just one click and its done.
