If you want your website to get quickly indexed,
Try the following steps,
Add robots.txt and give the path of sitemap.xml
Create an XML sitemap and upload it to the Google Webmaster tool

Now, 40-60 days is a long time for indexation but indexation has nothing to do with appearing on the 1st page of google.

Both are albeit different subjects and depending on the niche it may take you 6-12 months or more to even start appearing on the first page provided you have done the basic SEO right.

you can also try some tiered link tactics. tier2 and tier3 links will have a great impact on your pages' indexation. I usually use link injection, it's cheap and works so well.
