So I run a semi automated blog on a certain up coming video game that I'm trying to build up to be a more gray hat site. I had been submitting the posts to social media sites using http://www.OnlyWire.com, building link wheels, doing article submissions, and having unique content being written for it. But traffic wasn't climbing past 20-30 visits a day.
I decided to check out how Twitter can help bring traffic to a blog. After reading quite a few good posts around the forum I set up a Twitter account under the name of the blog and put an avatar related to the niche.
Then I used http://twitterfeed.com/ to have my RSS from the blog directly tweeted on to Twitter.
I then had to find a way to mass follow people in hopes of them following me back. Once again I searched BHW and came across Pyrogenic Media's Phoenix Twitter Desktop app which allows you to manage multiple Twitter accounts and mass follow people after entering a certain keyword as well as auto update the accounts tweets from a list.
One trick I learned while reading around the forums was to remove anyone you are following that isn't following you within 24 hours of adding them. The reason for this I think is so your account doesn't stand to far out as a spammer if you are following 20k+ people and only have 1k following you it's going to look fishy. What I did was use an auto unfollowing web app. http://www.refollow.com/refollow/index.html It's pretty simple to use.
Then just the past 2 days I've only followed about 1k people and have 128 following me back and an extra 100 hits to my blog of 100% targeted leads.
