Hello, how are you all doing?

Let me begin by saying that I work in a small ecommerce. Our budget is relatively small: around 400€/day, which we distribute in different campaigns for Facebook, Instagram and IG Stories. We also create different campaigns according to the audience: look alikes, broad, interests and remarketing. We mainly aim for conversion, but we also have some PPE campaings.

The thing is, for the last few months we have seen a continued decrease of our CTR, which we have been struggling with. Some actions we have undertaken in order to improve the situation have been to use ad IDs in different campaigns to boost the social proof, and using organic publications to sell products. We also keep a tight control of the best creatives, to try to maximize their profit.

However, this has barely done anything to improve the situation, and I am beginning to be at a loss as to what to do to improve this aspect of FB Ads.

So, what would be your recommendations?

If you want to sell you must make ads for the objective of sales conversion.

The CTR is about the audience or the creative. That's why you need to test multiple audiences, ages, creatives, thumbnails and different placements for your ad.

We do try different audiences. Right now, lookalikes are working better than interests, even though it depends on the season.

I know the best thing we could do would be to create a specific ad for a specific audience, but logistics aren't on our side right now, so this is not a possibility.

We have tons of gifs and images to work with, and we do our best to capitalize on the ones that usually have higher CTRs. But this is still not enough.

However, we could try using different placements. We always do FB Feed and IG Feed / Explore / Stories. We decided not to use the rest of the placements, because those didn't work for us in the past. Moreover, we settled for the ages we know sell the most. Still, we could study using different placements again.

We usually create 4 original ads per campaign and then we duplicate them, having a total of 8 ads per campaign. We monitorize them every day to know what ads are working better. This mostly work ok for us, but there is something I have been thinking for the last few days: we have like 20-25 different audiences, which have a budget of 10€-30€, depending on how well they perform.

My question is: wouldn't it be better to simply pause those campaigns that doesn't perform all that well, and then distribute their budget to those that do actually convert as we want to? Isn't it better to have fewer strong campaigns instead of a lot of them that do not always perform well?

By low CTR you mean ? How much is yours ?

Instagram: 0,4-0,6 at best
Facebook: 0,8-1,50 at best
Stories: around 0,50

Working on that too :)

Just for the record, I was talking about outgoing CTR. Just to compare, what CTRs do you guys have?

Well, it depends on the budget you have. I work in a small company, whose daily budget revolves around 400€. I give around 10-20€/day to every campaign, and I keep scaling progressively (15% max) when they work.

Hope this helps.

Frankly, I don't know what else can I tell you. Another person has already said that it will turn green when you get some sales.

I am quite new to FB Ads, so I don't know for sure. Have you checked the events? You should have set them up after installing the pixel in your webpage.
