you got only 2% no follow that really suscpcious. 30% 70% or even half is nice ratio. i would throw bunch of tiered link with diversity engines like forum , blog comments , forum profiles etc.

As everyone said content is the most important thing create and offer high quality and valuable content which is related to your niche and useful for the users. Also update the content frequently and also try to build good quality backlinks from reputable sites.
