Also, I would go a step further and say traffic is nothing.. if I get 10 visits a day on my website and I sell lamborghinis and I make 2 sales a day, with $350 000 net profit, who gives a fuck about having 10 000 unique pageviews, especially untargetted traffic that will just bounce off, or even good traffic but that doesn't convert.

The only reason you should worry about the PR of your website is if your website is a link farm or a pligg site. Apart from that, focus more on the PR of the sites that are linking to you.

You should have to build quality backlinks from authoritative websites to increase the page rank of your website. Be sure to leave comments on forums and blogs that are do follow.

Internal-linking is often neglected, but often makes a big difference, maybe not for new blogs, but for an active six months blog, u start working on that. Then add the rest; bookmarking websites and indirect promotion etc.
