How to increase Google SERP CTR?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone has any advice on increasing CTR on Google SERPs? I'm currently ranked #2-3 on Google with a YouTube video and my CTR is like 7%, I'd expect a lot more from a position like this? Any tips on increasing Google SERPs CTR for YouTube videos? Thanks.

Try to upper case all characters in page title

Try to add authorship in your site - it will add picture on the left in Google serp for your results

I can't add authorship to a YouTube video, as far as I know. Doesn't upper case all letters scare off people?

Those are fake visitors, from what I've gathered from the website. I'm actually looking to increase my CTR for real visitors on organic search.

Its not too difficult.

- Use the keyword
- Use superlatives
- Use action words
- Think "if I were the searcher, what would I be looking for" and incorporate that into the title
- Use words such as "proven", "guaranteed", "fool-proof", etc.

For example if the keyword was "how to give a best man speech" this is what I would do:

Old YouTube video title: Learn how to give a best man speech
Better YouTube video title: Easy Secrets to Giving Anxiety-Free & Humorous Best Man Speeches
Best YouTube video title: Fool-Proof Secrets on How to Give A Best Man Speech w/Out Anxiety

May be your visitors would prefer a site rather than watching a video. Also count on the demographic. A lot of countries still have limited broadband quote that will limit video viewing.

I think most of the people who are searching my keywords would prefer watching a video. Nice mention on the limited broadband, though.

I would recommend to improve video description if you can.

Experiment with your description and try changing your thumbnail. People click on interesting looking videos.

I agree with this. I personally hate watching a 5 minute video to learn something I could have read in 30 seconds.

If the niche isn't something the people are expecting to watch a video for, that would be a good reason for the low CTR. (Edit: didn't see you already responded to that)
