Better ad copy can go a long way to boosting your CTR. High CTR ads succeed in 'talking' to the target audience. Conversely, if your ad has a low CTR, you may be able to improve it by working on the ad copy, message, or design, to make it more appealing to your audience. Take a look at your higher-performing ads.

All you wrote works until a point.
Consider that you DID PERFECTLY all you redd here and the competitor is ranking higher than you .
Also there are different algo depending where your site is , 2..3 page, first page, first 5 position so on.

I recommend that you look at the meta titles of the results that appear in the first 3 positions and get ideas from there.

Do you mean CTR on serp?

This is usually what i did:
- optimize meta title
- optimize meta description
- use agregaterating schema that can show rating/star below description on serp

Invest more time in creating a better title and meta description.

Though your site is filled with informational and affiliate for 20%, how much the quality of content is engaging? is that a long-form article focussing more on the low comp keywords? and all the stuffs including h1's to all meta tags meeting for that?

Before publishing a content I suggest better go for a keyword trend analysis and google search rankings for competitors can be effective. Also the information should be new and informative rather than pleasing someone or being in a crowd.

You have to make interesting thumbnails and titles, also you should make the first 15 sec catchy enough that the viewer will stay there you youtube will recommend it to more people. Your niche should be interesting too, or if the niche not then yourself.

Here is how I would do it:
-Pay for someone to make the thumbnails
OR
make 100 or more thumbnails, it does not have to be your video, just make it for other videos and see if it is good enough, just screenshot the main page of youtube and replace your thumbnail there with another video (also change the title), and then ask some of your friends if they would click on it. Simpler is some times just more, keep that in mind, sometimes 2 layers could be enough for a thumbnail with a red circle.

The title should raise questions in a viewer like HOW did he do it, WHAT did he do etc. Also make it short or mid length, don't make it too long otherwise it won't be visible to the viewer.

So,
The thumbnail and the title should:
- raise a question
- be attention-grabbing
- be “clickbaity”
- be shocking

+ For the tags try to optimize your tags, put as many as possible where you have good chance that you will be the first recommendation.
