The authority of the domain/website decides whether how the website ranks, if (or how long) it goes into the sandbox, etc.

Now my question is: How can I improve the authority of my website? I am not talking about the metric DA.

Or lets say: You just finished a new website. What links do you build first?

I take a few competitors which rank and try to replicate their links.
Most likely, in the beginning, I'll be short on cash so I'll go for the links I can build myself for free.

If it’s a new site I would recommend begin with any of the seo packages that you see in the seo packages. and point them to your home page, and some inner page

if you can just get back links from all the authority sites in your niche, you dont have any other shit.
people in seo are trying to emulate just this one thing. It will always be like this.

I just go with a combination of quality guest posts, niche edits, and PBN links from the start. I'll just increase the link velocity as time goes by.

However, if you want to create an authority site, you need a lot of content. Also, your site needs to stand out from the competition. Sometimes small things like personally photographing the products you review can completely change the readers' perspective about your site. It may not be feasible for all the products you review, but you can try doing it for high volume KWs.

Think about the sites you go to for advice and trust and you'll see that they do something different than the rest of them.

My first choice is getting links from the relevant sites which are rankings better for my niche related keywords.

Apart from that web2.0 and other social media links.

Then I will purchase PBN links from a reputed seller

This will be my choice of preference.

If it's not working means then I will go for high traffic guest post sites.

If that also not working I will go for all kinds of black hat methods as a last try.

For new site, focus on links from authorithy and relevant from unique sites, guest post. Mostly avoid low quality links.

If you want to Improve site Authority, I recommend "Guest Posts"
But, keep these 2 Important things in Mind

1. Good Quality Content.

What is a Good Quality Content ?
Its Unique Content that people will link to

2. Good Quality Guest Blogs.

What is a Good Quality Guest Blog ?
Niche Relevant Guest Blogs with good metrics

Example :

if Blog DA / PA is Good, But CF / TF is less than 10. Then its not a Good Quality blog to guest post
if Blog CF / TF is Good, But PA / DA is Less than 10. Then its not a Good Quality blog to guest post.

Check Metrics such as DA, PA, CF, TF, DR, Domain Age, Spam Score, etc..
Just spend some time on analyzing blog Metrics & Pick the Good quality Blogs to Guest post on.

I will share my experience from building authority website:

1) Publish ton of content on your niche (1000+ articles)
2) Get niche relevant guest posts to inner pages
3) 301 redirect an expired domain with backlink from news websites like cnn
4) Add relevant schema, tables and bullet point lists
5) Link out to scholarly edu websites
6) Every post should have 2-3 minimum internal links.

If you want to increase DA get backlinks from quality high DA sites and measures how closely your website is connected to trusted websites and the quality of your website’s content is a important factor in determining your DA and do social shares and keep your website user-friendly.

I recommend Guest post.

Following the steps:

1. Optimize on-page SEO including your title tags, image alt tags, and the content.

2. Produce high-quality content that people will link to.
Include internal links to improve user experience.

3. Run an audit to remove bad and broken links for a healthy website.
