Hi what are the tips to get better on upwork?

Don't miss these things :

-Use every part of your profile to showcase your skills

-Select a professional profile picture

-Showcase your expertise in the title and overview section

-Create an outstanding introduction video

-Highlight your best work in your portfolio

-List your certifications

-Include your employment history

-Include your educational background and other experiences

-Review and analyze your profile

You kind of apply the basic SEO rules for on page optimization, but the most important things from my experience are:

1. Reviews. If you can afford it, just buy some and hide the income with a Pro account.

2. Prospecting. Connects are not free anymore, so spend time choosing the right people to outreach. Look for those that you can impress somehow.

3. Use a sniper approach in your outreach. The CV and pre-maxe presentations don't cut it. Get straight to the point, no fluff, tell them what you can do for them and what you want in return. Clients use Upwork to save money and TIME.

One thing I did, but years ago, was to get a low-paying data entry job and outsourced it to a VA. I made literally zero revenue, but it was a hourly project that went on for months and which eventually granted me the top rated status. From then on I started getting leads on autopilot.

But that was when things were a bit less competitive. Now I notice that the new tiered rating system and sheer number of freelancers on the platform made things way harder than before, so it'll take some time unless you're in a micro niche.

This is just from my personal experience, so it may apply to you or not. In any case good luck

Take some necessary tests that match your skill. Add portfolio, relevant work history, educational information etc.

Thank you all. I also think about collaborating with someone maybe because I dont have enough skills to can offer a great service. Will it work with my account and someone else work?Where I can start ?

Make a good portfolio of your work and complete your upwork profile fully.

How should look a good profile with portofolio. Do you have any sample? thank you

Be consistent with your strongest skills and leverage all profile sections to back up your skills (title, skills, overview, work history) Help establish trust and confidence by completing all sections. Be concise and straightforward in your language. Proofread each section carefully and update your profile regularly.

All in all, fill out every information you can in the profile section.
Make your outreach strong
If possible try getting more reviews and you will be good to go.

Most of all, you will need a couple of good reviews. When you have those, you will get new projects easily. My advice is to lower your prices to get more projects (and reviews) and consider it as an investment. When you get 10-15 good reviews, you can continue working at your regular prices.
