How to improve my SEO (have a very common name)

Hello, my name: Alberto Palacios , I google that and find a lot of persons with that name, my question is, how could I improve my SEO so I could see myself in the first results?

Thing is this, I'm a musician, and I know that eventually I'll be a big name, so the idea is, that when people tries to google me, they find me almost instantly, but not a bunch of other names, suggestion, ideas?

First of all get a domain name with Alberto Palacios in it. Then add something about you in it. Add your portfolio. You can buy some services here and I think that would be enough to rank. Its not that difficult as the competition isn't that high
 
Make some music vids for youtube, that would be easy to rank
custom facebook url with your name in it
other social sites
as well as what hardcorebiker said
 
Yeah, create a website under your name then start blogging about music. Create an informative article about your niche and try posting it to different blogs, forums etc. Those are easy things to get rank.
 
Do some press releases. You'll be famous! :)
 
I create website for your name ( AlbertoPalacios. com net org ). Create some content about you. This content should be video, music , image or article and add to site. Create social media acc. and connect to site ( publish on your site at the same time ). And be social on the web. add some comment every day. Like other musician's videos or images or websites etc. you shoul be at the top of SERP after 4-6 week
 
create a google plus account
create a facebook account
create a facebook fan page account
create a twitter account

get your domain name to match your real name as close as possible. make sure it is .com. use hyphen in name if needed.

in the sites above and your website, create two way links

that should get you ranked in first page for your name.

Actually I have a website with stuff in it, however it's not a .com domain since it's free

So yeah, I guess I'll have to convert it to just .com and try the other methods presented.
