How to improve my local SEO

I am just starting off on the SEO journey. But I need free tools that can help me get SEO right
 
Advertise on BHW
Start with getting your Google Analytics and Search Console set up. You can use the data there to help analyze your progress and successes. Those tools are free.

You can do basic keyword research with the AdWords Keyword Planner; however, if you do use that tool, take into consideration that the Competition metrics is based off of Paid Search and not Organic SEO.

You can employ strategies that require absolutely no free or paid tools at all. Good content and a well optimized website can take you far. You can build it for free if you have the patience to code it yourself or use a free theme from one of the many available Content Management Systems. Although, you'll need to pay for hosting.

Thanks for your response. I already have Google analytics, search console and my own blog set up (www.vistablog9ja.com.ng) but i need traffic

Looks great, but your overall authority seems a bit low. Consider guest posting and outreach to get more links to boost your DA.

Trying being more concise with the keywords you're targeting for the top level pages of your site. For example, the title tag of your blog should be something more than "Vistablog9ja". Try something along the lines of "Vistablog9ja | Jobs Opportunities in Nigeria", and create some more top level pages/content silos around that. Then you'd be target a keyword with high search volume (jobs) in your local area (Nigeria).

Fabulous response! I will add those suggestions now. I want to ask if Article spinning is good with guest posting
 
Start with the basics: Figuring out a direction.

You say you're trying to rank for Local Seo. What are you trying to rank for exactly? Whats your market? As far as I can see, its just a general blog with no clear purpose.

I don't recommend article spinning, especially for a guest post. A guest post would need to be of higher quality if a publisher will be willing to use your writing for their site. The article would need to provide valuable information that might not already be available on the web.
 
Take advantage of the local Seo services like google for business Yelp etc.

Mate, you already get Google Webmaster Tool, Google Keyword planner, UberSuggest & Google Analytics...These are the only things you need to do your local SEO properly!

Like 2-3 days i had job to do SEO for caffe in my City, for that kind of SEO you must focus on Social Medias to gain some traffic, then you search about sites for free backlinks in specific city, give it a little time (5-6 weeks) and BOOM, things moving up, Instagram marketing scale it up to first place on Google for caffe name in city :D
 
I like full senuke for seo, but I find it difficult to run the software
 
- Get a verified Google my business listing
- Submit your business to your countries directory sites
- Search for additional niche directory sites to submit your business to
- Find local forums/blogs etc to reach out to in order to promote your local business
- Get reviews across directory sites including Google my business

Watch the valuable local traffic come trickling through :)
