Hi, guys
Sorry, English is not my native language:weep:. We have launched a website one year ago, it's an e-commerce website. Recently, I checked our website avg visit duration, the result is about 55 seconds. Honestly, I'm not satisfied with this result. Cuz our competitor's avg visit duration is about 5 minutes.
We have taken more efforts on On-Page SEO, but we have not taken any methods to do things on Off-Page SEO. We have improved any parts of website, such as collections SEO , product SEO, image SEO, blogs, and more.
I admitted that our competitor has large organic traffic each month, because they launched the website seven years ago.
Finally, I can't understand why they have 5 minutes on avg visit duration? Our website is just an e-commerce website, you entered into the website, and bought something and left. Also, they don't have blogs on website.
Does that mean I should leave the result to the time? I should wait?
I really appreciate your any advice.
Thanks in advance

Imagine a very slow youtube with a bad mobile theme and bad video recommendations, would you stay using it for more than 1 minute?

You know the answer now.

The difference in average duration is huge. So huge that just by looking at your competitor's website you should be able to understand right away why their avd is way higher than yours. If your website is optimized I would say it must be related to your content.

This can depend on a lot of different things, really. Maybe their site is older and has a good online reputation so it ranks higher and people aim to stay longer there because they trust that company. Or they update some sections often and users are interested to find out more about that. The blog is the best traffic generator but it's not the only one. You could maybe try to analyze their activities in more detail so that you get some ideas about what you should try to have a longer sessions durations.
