Hi everyone,

I’ve set up a 4G rotating mobile proxy using iProxy Online that I built myself, and I'm using Shadowrocket to manage it on my iPhone. However, it seems like some apps are detecting that I'm using a proxy, either because of the Shadowrocket app itself or because they're identifying the proxy usage somehow.

Since my proxy is mobile-based, I’m not sure how these apps could detect it. Does anyone know of a way to hide or spoof the fact that I'm using a proxy on my iPhone, whether it’s through configuration tweaks, other apps, or any other method?

Thanks in advance for your help!

The issue is that when proxies for iPhone are connected through an app, the iPhone shamelessly "reports" the use of proxies to other apps. There might be applications that allow you to bypass this, but you can simplify things by setting the proxy directly in the iPhone’s settings.

Here's how to do it:
  1. Open Settings -> Wi-Fi -> tap the round i icon next to your active Wi-Fi network.
  2. Scroll down to the last menu item, Configure Proxy.
  3. Select Manual and enter all the details for your proxy connection.
  4. Open your browser and enter your proxy login and password in the pop-up window.
  5. Enjoy! ☆

I just followed these steps on my iPhone and successfully connected to proxy.

It’s important to note that some apps may try to compare your proxy data with other data available from your iPhone, such as geolocation or analytics from other apps. In short, it's best to restrict all access permissions for the target app. Do this in advance because some apps extract as much information as possible about your device (like its unique fingerprint) as soon as they get the chance. Any mismatches can cause the app to become problematic or uncooperative.

You may consider using a VPN instead of a proxy as security and anonymity come first, VPNs usually provide more security and are harder to detect than proxies.

Use high-quality proxies from reputable providers that offer stealth features to minimize detection.
Rotate your proxies regularly to avoid using the same IP address for an extended period.
