Hi! Can hiding links from competitors who use only ahrefs harm our SEO in some way? If not, what is the best way to do it?

As is popularly recommended, block the Ahrefs bot using your robots.txt. But I don't think this is 100% effective unless you own both the site sending the links and the sites receiving.
This is typically what PBN owners do but when you don't control both ends of the links, I think the bots would still be able to see the links from either ends of the links they aren't blocked from seeing

Just google for it and you will find it. It's not that complicated but you need a list of crawler's to block. Once done you will be able to hide everything from crawlers. And no it does not affect your SEO or rankings in any way. Just don't block google crawler.

You can hide backlinks from your site pretty easy - as explained in the other comments. You cant hide backlinks from 3rd party domains, though - if they dont block the ahrefs bots.
