This is the right method...only if OP can do it
OP cannot do it.
But, OP can pay someone to do it
But, OP is too cheap to pay someone to do it
So, OP does what he can
This is the right method...only if OP can do it
It's fixed now. The sticky double tape did the trick. Mirror still standing!![]()
Keep us posted when it falls![]()
You don't have a male father figure or any friend or relative that could help you in real life and you cannot find readily available information on how to do DIY so you resort to asking complete strangers on Internet forum that has nothing to do with home DIY when you can hire handy man for $25 to do thisSo i got a little mirror to put in my hallway. The mirror is 56x56cm, only weighs 3kg. It has 2 hooks, one on each side.
I wanna put it on the wall. The wall is... well, its a wall. There's red bricks inside and theyre painted over
So, my first idea is to get hooks that have that glue-like tape on them. Stick on the wall, hang the mirror. But then the mirror wont be perfectly close to the wall, plus the hooks may be a bit visible from the side.
My second idea is to get tape that is sticky on both sides. Stick on mirror, stick mirror on wall, have a nice day. And this is pretty sweet, but then id have to unscrew the hooks from the mirror, and i dont feel like it
I mean the mirror came with hooks, so lets use the things...
Okay my next idea is quite advanced and brutish. Buy 2 long nails and a hammer. Hammer the nails in the wall, hang the mirror.
And then if i dont hammer the nails correctly or something gets fucked up, go back to the plan with the tape thats sticky on both sides.
What say you guys?![]()

Do you go gardening forums and ask people how to re-wire boiler & water tank heater electrical wiring and at the same time how to install smart power breaker and how to integrate it into your home automation system and wifi. Asking for a friend![]()
3M Command Strips. Get the largest ones they sell and stick two on the left, two on the right, put it on the wall, then enjoy the reflection as you devilishly grin in front of the mirror.

You never owe friends, you share stuff with them, if they are real.I don't have a male father figure and I have no friends, no. But even if I did, I don't wanna owe anyone one.

Sorry to hear that you're all alone.I don't have a male father figure and I have no friends, no. But even if I did, I don't wanna owe anyone one.
I can find information online, I took care of it didn't I?
Sure I'll ask on the forum. It's a simple thing, people here do work around the house, drilling and hanging.
In fact a while ago I had some internet/phone cables I needed to wire to the sockets, and I had no idea what to do, but with the help of the internet and in great part a few guys from this forum I wired it all together and all works perfect.
This forum is awesome, can help you do anything.
Sorry to hear that you're all alone.
I didn't know that there are a lot of people who do drilling and hanging mirrors all day. I thought most people are here to discuss IM related topics. Perhaps you can request @Diamond Damien to create DYI section where everyone can post requests for experts on plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, dentistry and any other type of work to create master plan for those seeking help with household projects and don't have budget to pay professionals or find it on Youtube or niche dedicated forums. I am also glad that there are nice people on BHW that helped you how to connect ethernet cables with RJ45 connectors on both ends. I've had near 20 years of IT manager experience (before I retired) and know that wiring jobs of any magnitude can be a challenge and glad things worked out for you.
I will plan on taking this advice next time I need help. I have concrete job for to remodel my pool, I don't want to hire any experts and will seek concrete plan from people on BHW instead. I also had problems with my Tesla and my local mechanics are not experts on electrical motors and Tesla dealership is too far, I will look for experts here to help me instead.![]()
They sell special anchoring systems for bricks. Do you have a drill? You can drill a hole, install an anchor, attach a other hook or something that the hook on the mirror will catch on. Sounds like a bit of work, but it's not if you have the tool already. If you don't have the tools you're likely better off with the tape. Not sure how good it will stick though. So i got a little mirror to put in my hallway. The mirror is 56x56cm, only weighs 3kg. It has 2 hooks, one on each side.
