I'm doing work for a client and noticed a bunch of spam links with random letter anchor text such as hdsajkkabd. The articles are unreadable spun trash with a lot of outbound links.

I've tried researching the best way to fix it on old bhw threads and other sites. It seems there is a lot of conflict on this. Other sites seem to favor disavowing the links. Bhw seems to be split on doing nothing and disavowing the links.

So my question is, what would you do? Should I do anything?

Thanks for your time.

No one have an opinion on this?

If this work is for client, maybe to ask him?
;)

yeah you have a disavow tool you can use from google. just send a simple txt file

Disavowing links is the worst possible advice, it's a worthless tool built on pipe dreams.

You need to remove the links in order to prevent issues with Penguin.

The usual process recommended by Google is first to try to get in touch with the webmaster and ask to take down the link. If that doesn't work, disavow.
