I'm not sure if the word clever is correct or not, and I believe "conceited" would be a better fit. (enlighten me on this one, please)
I've recently started an Upwork profile, and I'm trying to be nice to everyone to get a little traction.
After the fifth proposal, I've got an offer from a client for a specific chrome extension worth $50. Long story short, after delivering the initial version, he asked for a couple of random things.
One was to replace a piece of text from showing "wait..." to "please wait...". So, as a newcomer on Upwork, I decided not to say anything and update the extension as he likes.
After four revisions and two or three TeamViewer sessions of testing and verifying the functionality, he sent a video from the initial version and told me the extension wouldn't work. I could see he uninstalled the previous version and reinstalled the first one (as there were two or three major differences between the first and second revisions).
I called him on his bluff, and he went offline without saying anything.
Now, I'm wondering. What would've been a better approach to this?
Also, for people who actively freelance on Upwork, how would you handle such a client?
