"A UK-based security researcher going by the name of ?fin1te? has earned himself $20,000 after uncovering a way to hack into any account on Facebook, just by sending a mobile phone text message."

I just think that 20k$ is not really a good amount for this enormous exploit.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, the reward must have been much higher.

The guy could have easily earned much more than $20k if he hacked Mark Zuckerberg's facebook account and posted some CPA email submit offers.
 
20k its pretty decent, I've seen bigger bugs that were paid withing the 5-10k range or not paid at all. Don't look a gift-horse in the mouth.
 
Even without going so far...

1. Hire 2-3 people to hack 2-300 accounts
2. Use them to boost brand new fanpages
3 ???
4 Profit.

Just a quick example ofcourse
 
If this was around a few years ago when virals were really big it is worth millions. Literally.

Another thing is the guys morals. He may just like finding bugs without exploiting them and he may be trying to catch the eye of Facebook in order for them to offer him a job.

Just saying.

Highly unlikely one bug would get him a job, unless he does it frequently. ;P
 
do you think there is a way to bypass this anymore? there's an account I would like to get into, I have the email and password but can't seem to bypass login approvals.
 
He was a very big noob!!! only $20k for this bug??? Oh man.... he sucks a lot for me!! I will never report a bug like this for only $20k... I prefer to take the secret for me and try first some plans :D
 
Hello. I need someone to hack a facebook account for me. Just 1. Can anyone do it? even if it costs $

I can even provide some letters/phrases/numbers that can match with the actual password.

I am not possesive. But this about my GF. If anyone could help, please let me know. If this can be done, I want to do this. It's for the good of both of us even if now it sounds weird. Can anyone help? please, only serious proposals only. I will test anyone first (i'll give them my FB to hack so I can see he can get this done). This FB account i want to get access to just recently changed the password. I know the old one. Does anyone know if I press "No" at the "do you remember making this change" question from FB will actually bring back the old one or send a reset password request to the linked email? (I believe so). Or will it just revert to the old one thus giving me access? ( I don't believe that would happen)
