I had a good time with pinterest when my muscle building board exploded and my pins were driving great traffic and affiliate sales. But the accound was taken down later.

Pinterest deliver real targeted traffic, and serious buyers.

You have to be consistent. Your contents need to be eye catching and well optimized. I think 2-3 months of time is needed to set up a good account.
