Hey guys, I started an automotive forum recently.

Now I completely understand forums are hard to grow as it needs to look active before most people will join, but how would you recommend growing a fresh forum in the automotive niche?

Thanks to anyone who can lend some advice!

Well, you figured it out that it needs activity, so you either generate that yourself with fake accounts (starting threads, posting replies) or you can go to freelancer sites, the HaF section o BHW and hire people to do it for you.

Fake posting from various usernames and IPs, Hire paid posters, arrenge giveaways, rank the members, free stuff while they sign up etc etc. Now a days growing forums are real hard specially when facebook group came up :(

Lol he doesn't need to post from different IPs since he's the only one who knows what the IPs are and can change them later as he sees fit. It's not like his own forum is going to ban him for dupe accounts.

I've managed forums before, though dropped the projects. Here is how you can shoot up the growth.

1) Keep an incentive. For example: For every informational thread, the OP receives .5$. For every replies to thread, the user receives 0.1$.

However, this method will lead to more quantity than quality. You can also keep an ultimate gift for the most post makers. For example: the most effective and helpful, and active member will receive a domain as a gift. Gifts work better than money.

2) Keep updating with guides, the more you teach, the more conversations take place, the more the words spreads. Maybe even hire people to write fluff-free helpful guides.

Hope this helps.

go and add post that relate to each car problam.

like

How to section《《《《
Car Make 》》》
bmw》》》》》
bmw 3 series》》》》
how to change the tyre 》》》》
article.....
Renualt
Mercedes
toyota 》》》》
mr2 》》how to change the battary 》》》
article....

you need to add advice articles that people need help on .

there so many auto forums out there , the best way would be going to them seeing there written info and re write that info on your forum in your words

your not allowed to copy the info as that dup but you can re write the info .

there thousands of car version styles and diffrences the job is massive good luck.

remember these car forums out there get pro from the make of the car join and advise on serious subjects that can make a car be safe or very dangrous legal protect your self, becouse if a idiot write somethink and someones does it via your website and get killed or hurt , your forum might get fined or legal problams be carefull ....

i would do this off sure hosting just encase ....

create threads by new accounts, each one will ask some top question in the niche asked by newbies.

then you post answers from other fake users profiles.

but that will work only if your forum is getting any traffic already

Go to quora, compile most popular questions about your topic and answer them yourself on your forum.
aidenhera already posted it before me, but i think we're talking about the same thing

Yeah I would drive a blog on different subdomain and create content then seo it. you will get blog traffic from google and they will register at forum

Hmm, interesting idea. Definitely seems like a good way to get good content up and going on there.

Go to an established car forum and copy their categories. For example go to civicx dot com/forums and look at how they break down their forum.

Make sure to have a section where people can show off their cars. Make sure also that you have a section to discuss various car customizations/modifications. Have a for sale section. Basically look at the more established forums, copy them.

As for content, make sure to make that your forum has all the latest information regarding that car model. If someone came out with a turbo kit for your car model. Make sure to post about those news. If someone has dyno tested your car model, post what type of power it has put down to the wheels. If someone ran 1/4 mile, post that video. Etc.

Also create threads where people can post the latest car picture they took of their car. Another thread for the latest modification they did to their car. Stuff like that. Just research deeply how other car forums operate.

Like others have said make some fake accounts in the beginning. As real people start to register and post, community will start growing naturally.

Look at the biggest forums in your niche, copy and spin their most popular threads. Fill in your forum with fake users, then start advertising your forum to niche related blogs, sites and forums. The highest viewed threads in your niche is going to show you what really gets people stirred up and commenting.
