How to go about this?

If this is in the wrong place feel free to tear me a new asshole and tell me where I should put it. If I am not supposed to post it anywhere, feel free to slap my hand and take away my birthday.

I have an idea about an internet marketing membership site that I think is the best thing since Fried Twinkies. Better than Alyssa Milano in a g-string. Seriously.

I do not have the smarts to do it myself, but I can do part of it. It could potentially be worth $100,000 a year or hell, a lot more...it really is that good. It could seriously scale into the millions.

Now what do I do? Who do you go to when you have the creativity, but not the smarts nor the finances. How do I keep this from being snatched away if I share it?

If you go to someone how do you protect yourself from being ripped off?

When I thought of this idea, it actually made me queasy that it could work, it is that good.

I have the idea, and a strong back, and a fair knowledge of SEO.

How would you proceed?

Seriously, if you are doing this you must make someone sign a non-disclosure agreement, I use them all the time.
 
How specific must one be and do I need to have a lawyer draw it up?

There are some online legal sites, I know there is one that always has commercials. Can't remember what they are called though lol.

However, yes I would get one drafted so you could use it when talking to people.
 
Do not simply think someone is trust-able no matter their rep on a website or how known they are. I would personally keep it to myself and draw up a plan of how I can implement it myself through the means of using google to research each thing that needs setting up and setup each part one step at a time.

If you get stuck on setting a certain section up, then ask someone for help regarding that, since then they do not know the whole method, just a small aspect of it.

If you're stuck with funding then simply do a few fiverr gigs to get yourself started or try some of the tutorials on here (the highly commented + rated ones).
 
OK, but them what. How do you find an experienced online marketer to pitch to, that you can trust?
 
Just share the idea and get some feedback, keep it to secretive and you might spend everything you got on it only to find when you open it up to the world it doesn't work :)
 
Completely ignore davids355 advice, no offense against him but his advice is very bad and could cost you entirely.

Think about it this way...a method that only one person knows using youtube + CPA, targeting many different niches, they are banking HUGE amounts of money. They then release the method and then there is 100 people doing the method, what happens then? it's saturated and the method becomes much more worthless.

I do know davids355 or indeed you, but in all honesty,
I will bet my house that he/she is earning at least 10 times you are.
(his/her rep in BHW is over 35 times yours btw, no saying that counts for everything,
but it is nonetheless an indication).

So, to the OP, be wary of the false advice. naysayers etc.. and get a balanced view
from all comments before taking rash decisions.

I do not wish to dampen your enthuasism by the way, but I knew a guy who had an idea, (offline) spent hefty 6 figures before it was taken to market,
showed it to someone else, and he soon discovered that there was no market for his goods, he tried to diversify, spent more money and more time,
still no market. lost lots. just by playing safe and keeping cards too close to his chest.

So, my advice is to test / a sample of able bodied reviewers, and seek there opinion, ONLY after getting a simple NDA signed off.

Think for a moment, look around BHW, and do you see members offering tests, review copies etc... it is not just marketing, it is tesing the market, setting price goals, scalability, updating software, services etc... BEFORE
they take it to market.

This is not something I can fiverr out, its not as simplistic as that. I am not talking about a WSO.

Also, the reason I am asking the experienced people on this forum how to go about this, is that I believe that some of the people may have had successful , or unsuccessful joint ventures and can tell me what to be aware of, or try to do.

Don't make the assumption that this was a pathetic attempt to attract partners from this forum. No offense, but I barely know any of you. You seem nice and all, but ...

I really need to know how to find a few successful, credible, capable, and honest Internet Marketers, and how to pitch to them. I am assuming that I don't walk up to <INSERT GURU HERE> and say "SO...I have this great idea, but I don't know how in the hell to do it, nor what it will cost......". Seems to me that this is a bad start. Not to mention that said guru is probably not in Houston right now.

I know they exist because I am one. I am just a itty bitty one with no real credibility in this market.

It is not a method, it is an evergreen, scalable , unique membership site.

By unique, I mean offering a a valuable. one of a kind service to its members that is in demand and has no one doing it now, that people will fall over themselves to be part of.

It sounds like you definitely need to speak to the right people. Now I honestly do think you should get a NDA for people to sign before talking to anyone. What you need to do is compartmentalize this thing.

However, it sounds like you will need a partner. Someone with actual programming experience. I doubt you would want to speak with anyone on here and I actually suggest you find a family member or friend to trust. However still make then sign the NDA. If you don't know anyone though, I do have a friend who works at Cisco in California who could definitely help you out.

I had an idea once, but can't remember it anymore. so my first advise is not let it go.

some pretty decent advise here. you need someone u can trust, its simple but tedious.

you have a bunch of people here. give a week to read all posts by all members as much as you can, have a 'feel' for some... someone you can trust. then jump on him for an advise. if he's a cool dude, he'll help. your gut feel might prove its worth.

So I am guessing that you have no advise about how to contact or pitch an idea, then..For God's sake I know how to do Market research. I run my own small business and have done so for many years.

I'm not building a niche site or developing some nickle and dime CPA method, and I am certainly not making a rash decision.

Please folks, I asked for very specific help if anyone has some, and the request for help was a genuine one. I am not some freaking newbie, despite my rank on this forum, I have been in technology for over 35 years. The idea is sound, there is a hungry untapped desperate market and no competition. I am satisfied with that. Anyone who sees what I have will see that instantly, and if they do due their diligence and research, they will come to the same conclusion that I have. This ain't pie in the sky shit.

Now if I knew how to contact the right people and how to pitch an idea....if someone has some advice about that, then Gee, that would be swell.

Global, I know you are trying to help a newbie avoid a mistake, and I appreciate it and I have thanked you for your comment. I did not mean to flame you, and I certainly meant no disrespect. You have my apology freely given if this has been the case. I just have asked for specific help here if someone can do so.

Wow I had a nice long message for you and sadly my phone deleted it. Sigh.

You need professional people to do this. If you haven extended family or friends with the skills. Then check nearby companies. Call and talk to who you need and see what they charge for a consultation. Also make sure they sign NDAs. If not run onto the next company.

Honestly a partner is the best option. Then you can hire other people for smaller tasks. I actually work for a large tech company as well, but it really is impossible to sell the "next big thing" anymore.

Either you partner up or hire a firm to build the site for you.

Dude, when he comes straight out and says I'm wrong purely because another member has more posts then me is stupid, you know that.
Also because another member has more rep and posts his income must be at least 10x mine? Another clueless statement he made.

I'm just pointing out how wrong he is and you know he is too. I was helping out the OP by telling him not to follow BAD advice (you know the guy saying that he should share his idea?)

Hey I completely agree with you. I'm just saying you can't let every troll get to you. Don't waste time on him man. He isn't worth your time because you got money to make.
