For example, "landscaping" or "pool cleaning"

What steps should I be taking to go about this?

No chance focus on the low competition ones first and then slowly build up

You should take the step to invest a lot of money to rank these kinds of high competition keywords.

This is also correct, but if you a budget high enough this won't be the case.

The way I'm doing this is I target the biggest keyword immediately. I get links to those keywords, get related articles and interlink them etc. And 99% of the time my smaller keywords are ranking anyway. So I gain more keywords with less money spent. As in your case we would build links to small keywords, wait for them to rank, then go up, which is a little wrong imo :)

I already rank for the lower ones but the search volume is too low and not brining in enough clicks

I already rank for the lower search volume keywords, ranking 1st on google. However it's not brining in enough clicks. I need to start ranking on these major keywords

This is the only way you can rank for high comp PBN overload Game Cpa niches. It work for me in several niches, so i guess this is the way to go no matter id its cpa or legit niche.

Nop, just my experience :) I started doing that at the very beginning and found it the best way to rank everything. It takes less time and actually less money from me as well. Of course, if you don't want to rank those high volume keywords then no need to build links to them as for affiliate sites they don't convert anyway.

Sure, go high or go home :)

So, you think getting backlinks and content would be the way to go? With the content is that blog content or onsite content?
Then interlink the page with the keyword?

Yes, that's the main way to rank. About content - no idea as I don't know what kind of a site you have. Interlinking is crucial but no need to use a keyword.

One is landscaping website and the other a cleaning. I've been told the onsite is pretty good. Maybe I need to add more interlinking?

No need to overwork. I suggest for you to make a /blog section and add related articles with interlinking to HM :)

Yea, I rank ~50 000 ms keyword, for example,, roof tent and it gets me less sales than a 1400 MS keywords best roof tents.

A bit off-topic... but what are some of the best roof tents? I've been looking to buy one for my 04 4runner

No idea man! I'm searching for my Wrangler as well. In Europe it's impossible to get good Overlanding stuff.

Focus on medium competition keywords that are easy to type

It's literally low volume then very high volume, no in between. Unless I rank for every city in the area for city+keyword
