How to give clear instructions to coder/dev

Hi, anyone with prior experience hiring coder/dev or if you are a developer yourself, can you please give me some tips/guides on the dos and donts when hiring developer to create bots/saas software?

How do I give clear instructions to them so that they dont misunderstand the function, attributes, requirements of the software that I want them to build?

From my experience I can tell you that:
- if there is a similar product/software/bot, it's good to show it to the developer and then discuss what you need different/improved,
- when you explain to the dev what you want him to do, ask him to tell you what needs to be done to see if he understood the instructions,
- stay in contact with him and ask him if everything is clear or needs explaining more
 
You should be able to explain well what you want if not you will get bad results for example if you tell someone this"hi design a software" then he asks?"what kind" you then say"you decide mate" then you get a random thing back.

Be straight to the point of what you want software wise or coding wise.
 
I think everyone will understand you in english i mean just say to developer what you want and that its if you want feature to comment say him to make that...

How to avoid scammers and lousy coders that promise you the moon but will not deliver?
 
To avoid scammers, it's good to set the time frame for each task the developer has to complete and show it to you that it has been done. Obviously, it's not always possible because the code has to be finished before you can see it work, but a reasonable and honest developer will try to show you the completed steps of the project.

It's also good to use platforms such as Upwork or Fiverr (these are just examples) for getting into a contract with the developer because if something goes wrong, you will have a chance to not approve/accept the dev's work.

Usually a good programmer ls the one that will tell you id what you want is possible or if what you think can be donde using a better aproach with better results.
 
Interested too, I was never able to communicate with a developper. On the other hand I was hiring them for cheap because I didn't want to pay 7500$ for a project.
