How to get your OLD videos recommended?

Hi forum!

I've been on YouTube for many years. During this time I had several channels on different niches with a few viral videos. YouTube marketing was very important to me as I used to sell YouTube views a few years ago.

Nowadays things have changed a lot. Keywords are not that important anymore. A good title and a very attractive thumbnail seem to be the most decisive factor in ranking a video.

For me it was very weird to see last year when suddenly old "inactive" videos got recommended to me.
Obviously this had to do with the new YouTube algorithm update. Since then I tried several times to crack the code.

I believe old videos get recommended because of new popular(increasing) YouTube searches that are similar to some of the old video titles.

For example I had an old video with a funny pet that had over 1M views that was viral 5 years ago. It was pretty much dead, receiving maybe 1K views per month last year. Suddenly it got another 600K views with users commenting "who got this video recommend in 2019?"

I think it had to do with users massively searching keywords similar to my video title, which resulted in YT algorithm ranking my videos as recommended.

Why I am telling you all this? Because I want to rank again my OLD videos.

I am looking for a tool that is able to massively search in YouTube search engine and manipulate the keyword searches.

Let's say I have the following video title: "Angry cat bites toddler in the face"

I would then massively search for keywords similar to this title using many elite proxies and for several days.

Is there a tool able to do this? Is someone able to build it? Let me know!

Back then u could buy views that get your video suggested but idk about today.. i would be also interested to know

Comments, if you get a lot of comments, your video will be trending. In order to push the video into trends using views. It will take a lot of views, bro

A good title and thumbnail can effect rankings as they influence click through rate. Keywords can also help initially but they don't really determine how high you rank, they just help establish relevance so YouTube knows where to rank your video. In addition to relevance, video rankings are determined by performance with the organic traffic relative to your competitors videos (i.e if video 2 yeilds better user behaviour signals with a specific audience then video 1, it will likely outrank it).

I don't think that is true. A more likely explaination is probably increased activity on similar videos or videos that attract a similar audience to what your video had (this could be from a new video being uploaded that your old video was recommended next to due to overlapping audiences, there are thousands of reasons this could happen though). Then the increased traffic caused your video to get recommended to similar videos and viewers, the video performs well relative to competitors with each audience, etc.

It's not as simple as more searches equals more recommendations, it's more about how certain audiences are interacting with YouTube and how those audiences relate to your video. Several things can happen at once causing a viral effect, this can happen with new and old videos. This doesn't seem to be the kind of thing you can manipulate in the way you have described.

He cannot because he is wrong. Comments may have a very small impact when part of a broader yt seo strategy but effect is generally minimal. Just boost with a normal amount of comments relative to your competitors if you want to manipulate comment metrics.

Unfortunately not. I think you should not compare comments and views. These are two different things. You can display a video in that having only 1.5 -2k comments
