I used fiverr services to build wiki links but my site penalized. I don't what method caused this. Does this method really improve the ranking?

I go for manual link building submission which is safe for my websites. Massive links by soft can bring your sites harm
You can use wiki bomber to search for the list, but I highly recommend building wiki links manually to get the best results.

Don't listen to people you hear talking about them. I guess Wiki links are worthless. If you get a link from Wikipedia, that's awesome. That's actually great for your site. People somehow twisted that into Google loving all wiki links, which simply isn't true.

Yes as many editor will delete your links if it is useless.

There might be several automated software that can do the posting for you. However, to avoid conflict with Google I suggest that you choose 4-5 high PR wiki sites, create your account and post to them manually and regularly.
