It seems that some sellers always pop up on top. what are the factors that can help with listings getting more visibility these days?

Some people fake the eBay watcher views.
More people are watching = higher in the listings.

Copy and bury some of those tittle and keywords of all the listed item's which are currently on the front page of ebay within the body of your description and use the white background or black background to hide/highlight these text.

Note; the reason for highlighting is for the text to be visible only to ebay bot obviously not to your customers.

that hidden text trick @Finaltouch mentioned is risky as hell now. cassini is smart enough to flag matching font and background colors, i got a store shadowbanned doing that a couple years back. the watcher botting @Lifeisnotgood brought up still works but you need decent residential proxies or ebay just filters them out anyway. honestly, the easiest way to jumpstart the algorithm lately is just running a high promoted listings rate for the first 48 hours to get some initial sales velocity, then scaling it back once you rank. works way better than trying to trick the bots with hidden keywords.
