How to get started?

Hello, and thank you in advance for reading. As a complete beginner to making money online, I have read a lot of information on this site. Previously, as an affiliate, I tried promoting a porn niche through Twitter and my WordPress blog. I posted links, and wrote intriguing descriptions, but I never really understood what I was doing, and wasn't able to make any money.

I then tried writing content articles for Scripted, but after jumping through many hoops there to prove that I'm "professional", my account wasn't even approved.

Nonetheless, I know that I am a skilled writer.

I feel overwhelmed by the abundance of information here, to the point where I just don't know where to start. At this point, I would appreciate someone with experience to give me some guidance.

I don't have a lot of experience, but from what I have read, you should offer to write some articles for free to showcase your work. You could gigs on Fiverr, try Yahoo Voices, setup a website offering to write articles. Takes time to get setup and get people. Look for Blogs that offer guest posts, write a great article and submit it, have it point back to your site. Keep at it and you will get there. I have just started my IM journey too, learning as I go along. Stick with the writing if that is what you like and read all about writing articles, getting published, etc. Good luck and hope this helped.

You can always take the time out, write about 50/60 articles in the most popular niches. Make sure they are 100% unique and between 400-600 words and create a BST. However, you'd have to get your post count up I believe. iWriter is ok for beginners too. It doesn't pay much when you're at the bottom level [hey everyone's gotta start somewhere!] but once you reach Elite status, the pay's decent.

That's it bruv, stick with your writing. Everyone in the marketing biz is familiar with term "content is king" so we are always in need of good, creative writers. As was previously stated hit up fiverr, iwriter, elance, odesk and the rest of those places, you will be making pennies to begin with but as you know you gotta crawl before you can drive a Ferrari!

Wolfovich, I know how you feel, I also tried and failed. But don't give up. If you are a good writer (I can't say that you aren't) then there are a bunch of ways to make money.

These are the ones that I have tried and made some money, it worked for me (but after 2 years of constant failures).
There are a bunch of sites that pay revenue if you write for them.

Infobarrel - It's not that big yet but a great start. They have monthly contests where you can win (I haven't won anything yet) Amazon gift cards.
Simply by writing articles. You get points depending on how long your article is. If you are firs you get $100. second $50 and third $25. They pay the ad clicks through paypal, but you need to have an Amazon id to make money from Amazon products.
The down side is that it only allows you 2 hyper links.
Requirement: PayPal, Amazon id

Squidoo - It's like Infobarrel, but it's olden and very popular. They pay everything through PayPal, from amazon sales to ad clicks. You can also make money (a commission) from Cafe Press products, Esty products and even iTunes. They let you put affiliate links there, but you can only put 9 links from the same domain, also the problem with Squidoois that you need a lot of content for it to be indexed.

Extra: A Clickbank account

HubPages - is also a good one but I have a bad experience with it. You need to have an Google publisher id and Amazon publisher id to make money from them. You simply put them in and start writing articles. It doesn't mater how long they are. Also you don't have too add keywords, HubPages does that for you. I got a lot of traffic from Google without doing any SEO. But as I said I have a bad experience with them. When I was 17 I made an account with them and started writing, I couldn't create an google Adsence account back then so my mother let me use her name to create on and I made some money. After I turned 18 I changed the Google published id and they banned my ip from creating any content from them, even though I had 180+ articles with them.

If you want to make money from any of these then search on YouTube for tutorialson Squidoo and HubPages (because they didn't made much tutorials for Infobarrel), most of them also apply s for Infbarrel.

Also, search a bit on their forums, that helped my a lot.

Also, I decided to make a fresh start and created a new Squidoo and Infobarrel accounts.

You should know that I am busy with school and my part time job (I do that to get more dependable, it's my choice) so I only published one article on each of them. I will update it through October or September, I already have written down some ideas.

Also, I recommend to make a Twitter, Reddit and Stumble Upon account, it doesn't matter if you write good when there is no one to see it.

If you can work whenever you want then work on Fiverr or Elance.
