I have noticed when I'm ill(have a cold) or when something unpleasant has happened or when I'm just tired - at those moments I tend to be:
- more realistic(think more like a realist)
- make better decisions
- get shit done
- get better results

At my normal state, I fell like I'm too hyped and overly positive which leads to:
- not being realistic but being too big of an optimist(more than I should be)
- not make good decisions
- talk about it but actually not doing anything
- get far worst results

Any idea why is that? And how can keep the first state going?

boosting to the top

That's actually a good idea :D
When I haven't slept enough I feel exactly like that.
But do you know why that is happening why I feel this way?
Probably an overactive mind.

I am no psychologist, so I have no real clue. But, get 10 people to throw something for you to catch. You will probably miss most, if not all of them.

Change that to 1 thing. You will have full concentration and focus on it.

Now put that theory to your mind and thoughts...

EDIT: Deleted some random shit I wrote...

Definitely sleep less, maybe 7 or 8 hours maximum. Have you tried meditating? Even just trying some simple breathing exercises (look up how to do nadi shodhana pranayama) can put you in a more relaxed, meditative state. I do it when I feel myself getting upset or if I feel like my mind is going 1000000000mph and needs a reset. Good luck and happy days!

Shorty, the main issue you probably face with is overthinking.

A very fucked up situation, where you jump from target to target (inside your mind) from thought to thought.

How to get shit done, is not even making a list of shit, but implementing the habit. Habit to start doing your task as soon as you register it.

From there, you need to keep habit active for months if that is what it takes, to establish a function called loop.

The outcome is: it won't work perfectly, but if you insist, it will work perfectly, and that doesn't mean it will stay perfect, but it will be more easy and more effective to finish your target.

It is like body shape, like typing on keyword day 1 and day now.... simple shit.

But you don't love to get your shit done? That's why you have more and less successful individuals.

Edit: the thing is if you work you can't think, so keep yourself busy. Thinking is an issue.

I followed your advice and checked out how to do nadi shodhana pranayama. But I have a cold currently and my nose is stuffy. Once I get better I will definitely start practicing it.

Oh yeah a clear nose is necessary! You could start with that and look up some other yogic breathing exercises/ yogic practices too and just fall down the rabbit hole. Hope you find some peace!

Set small goals - tiny things, like with me - I program atm so I set very small goals at the beginning of the week like create one function, that take me say 20 mins - make one database table and test - 20 mins an so on.
I make about 10 small goals. But my minimum no matter what I do I have to do one off the list at least 5 days a week.
The best tip a told by an ace programmer was - if you cant achieve your goal in 20 mins - move to the next one and so on then when you have achieved a goal start from the beginning of the list again. We need small victories in our lives otherwise we loose faith in our self.
Do the same with other things , if you are untidy like me because I get so focused and forget to do the washing up etc or clan my bedroom, I break it down to small things. If you live alone then only have 1 cup 1 knife folk spoon one plate etc. A big pile of washing up you cannot face, but if you have to clean a plate and knife to make a sandwich it simple to clean everything else while you do it.
Take the stress out of your life with small things like - get a hook near the door and ALWAYS hang your keys on it as soon as you walk through your door.
Get a large bowl or shelf and when you empty your pockets put it all in there or on the shelf.
Get a cheap mobile phone stand and always put your phone on it so you know where it is - these are good habits.

you have a 'king syndrome' , just check to physcology doctor , he will help you

A few years ago I read something that mentioned in between breaths is when you are most likely to lose focus on whatever you are doing.

So you leverage conscious breathing to help maintain focus by piggy backing it with the task at hand.

What about food? Eating less and healthier I think helps me

Just a survival instinct gets your lazy ass working , nothing mysterious
