I would suggest to browse this forum and read similar posts on traffic and maybe getting some traffic ebooks. Many posters above suggested the usual suspects for getting traffic but you would do better if you first determine the target group for your blog then test traffic sources to see which one works better for you. There is NO universal solution, you need to find out which one works for your particular case. And I would add gust blogging -works really well if you're good.

I have success creating as many branded social network and forum accounts for each website. Once a post is published and indexed I then copy paste it with link to original post URL to each of the accounts. Works like a charm. If you have good content it will go viral.
