How to get ranked using copied content?

If they did officially claim that, they LIED.
I run a news aggregator, of 400 posts that are live on the site at any time, exactly 0 are original. The entire site might have 100 words of content that I have written and not copy-pasted from elsewhere, hell I even copied Wikipedia pages for biographies of people that I post, no spinning nothing. It ranks for keywords directly related to the copied content, it ranks above the sources some times. And I run multiples of these.

Granted, the news niche is a bit different

You will get a DMCA action for doing this. And you will not rank because you will not get any credit for your on-site. Ranking is both on-site and off-site.

I would give you 5 days before you get an email from abc.com lawyer. Not worth it. if you're going to copy content, re-write it.

You will never rank before you get a lawsuit.

source? if google said it you should be easily able to look it up and post it here. as for your example, first of all it deppends on what you want to rank for turkey or chickens? by mixing it up you will probably simply just end up ranking for both, since you didn't copy it, but just wrote about 2 different things in 900 words. google might show the same article for both keywords. sorry, but your claims are just own assumptions and wrong guess work..
if you copy an article and even add own content you make it better as if you just copy 1:1 since then you try to "add value" to it. thats exactly what google says multiple times "if you just copy without adding value" what they are trying to say here is that you can quote or copy articles if you add own text/graphics/video whatever to make it more useful/user friendly/detailed.. hence why news sites don't have any problems even though they all report about the same story just in slightly different wording (as if it was spinned) or simply syndicate it all from elsewhere and add some own commentary.

oh and to the OP: if your target is really abc.com and thats not just an example domain, then even if you would have success, ABC can just take your domain.
the registrar will hand it over since abc has the copyright.

Hey abc.com is just an example. I am not targeting the copyrighted website. Its a normal website with 12k traffic per day. So no law issue. I don't care about law issue in this matter.

So moral of the story It's depend upon site niche

OP, you will not likely rank if you will be creating an obvious duplicate of the original site.
