If you are looking for .edu domain name. Then you should be having a registered educational institute. They will ask for these registration papers and they do verify it before giving you .edu domain. If you are an educational institute then you can register .edu domain from here http://www.educause.edu/

If you don't have registered educational institute then you can't have a .edu blog mate. Impossible.
