How to get "official" marker on Google maps

How come some businesses seem to have an "official" looking marker in Google maps, and others don't?

How do I get an "official" looking marker like the ones that are circled? I have a Google + Places page with the correct street address. Do I need to upgrade my business account or something? There are a lot of businesses without a marker.

Usually, they send you a postal letter with a pin. If not, ask for it again. In example, change minimally your business name, and they will send you a letter asking for confirmation.
