How to get HD logo on Youtube?

Hy, what format should the video be to receive the HD format sign next to video or what is needed for it?

Have tried many various resolutions and no success yet

I can tell you how to do it in Sony Vegas. You should render the video as type Windows Media Video V9 and I usually use template 6 Mbps HD 720.

There is nothing special to the upload. YT just recognizes the type of video as HD and you get your logo .

ive put hd or hq in my tags and description and that seemed to work for me

ntsc (4/3)
1280x960 (progressive) = 960x720 (4/3) (youtube server)
ntsc (16/9)
1280x720 (progressive) = 1280x720 (16/9) (youtube server)

pal (4/3)
1440x1080 (progressive) = 900 x 720 (5/4) (youtube server)
(ratio not respected)
pal (16/9)
1440 x 810 (progressive) = 1080 x 720 (16/9) (youtube server)


Those are the settings to use

.mp4 is the format for HD to be shown in you're video.

Yea, use .mp4 file and you can use Windows Movie Maker to make your video in HD and it will show the HD logo when you search it. WMM has a preset of a HD thing that is 720p

Its not about format its about resolution
I personally use Camtasia 6, they have a HD setting.. 1280x720
To get the HQ icon, you would do 640x480

Format doesnt matter, but MP4, m4v works fine

You need to create a channel though YT secret link youtube.com/super_seekrit
This new beta channel is also a wide screen.
