How to get Google to update description?

I had just made a major change to a site & changed the description. Yahoo was updated pretty quickly but when my site comes up in a google search it still shows my old description under the link.

Seems like in the past the description usually is updated fairly quickly and I have been waiting about a week for this one. Any way to speed things along so google is updated?

feed in some links, 100 odd should do nicely enough to get google in again and sort itself out, ping the frontpage a few times while your at it as well as the links you drop

I usually go to www.autopinger.com and ping the site from there, it pings google , do it 2-3 times every 4 hours until the description changes on google.
