I searched Google extensively for this, but couldn't find anything. Basically, I'm trying to create a business on Google, but can't use my home address. I'm trying to figure out ways to do this.

I was thinking I could rent a mailing address or maybe list a building, entering it and saying that I have mail.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this.

    Any ideas?

I'm surprised nobody was able to provide a solution to OP's problem.

@TheNewMiner, I wrote an article on my business blog back in April about how to verify your business on Google MyBusiness without displaying your home address (as well as blurring out your house on Google Maps), and since I don't want to link to the site, I'll just tell you what you need to do here:
    1. Have Google send the verification code to your address.
    2. Verify your business.
    3. Log into your Google MyBusiness page.
    4. Click on “Edit Info”.
    5. Click the edit pencil next to “Address”.
    6. Tick the box that says, “I deliver good and services to my customer at their location”.
    7. Fill in the info about where you deliver your goods and services.
    8. Uncheck the box that says, “I also serve customers at my business address”.
I've had my (now former) home address hidden from on my Google business page for over 2 years now, and I only had 1 incident where the address was visible again, which I believe was due to Google changing around their settings.

In essence, you must have a back-up address that you can update with Google.

And then there are the P.O. box rental companies and virtual and temporary offices. It has been recommended not to use a major franchise P.O. box rental companies because Google may have flagged those.
