How to get expired domain from specific sites?

I'm currently learning more about SEO, and in the process of building out a PBN in order to take what I'm reading here and take real actions based on that. I think I have the overall process of building a PBN down, and now the first step is getting the domains.

I know I can buy they from people on here, and still planning to do so for some of them, but I also want to get some myself from very specific websites related to my niche/industry.

From what I have read:

1. I need a scraper like Scrapebox to go through the websites I want
2. Get the URL's maybe one or two levels down and see which ones are expired
3. Go on Ahrefs to see the metrics and do research on them and see if I should buy them

Is this the right overall process? Any tips or suggestions? Existing threads teaching this? (looked but didn't find). Better tools? Thanks!

I suggest you go PBN route, not 301 redirect

Been discussed multiple times and always ends up with people favoring PBN
