How to get editorial quality content for under $20 an article

So I struggled with content for years. I personally didn't go to school so the quality of my writing is sub par at best and I was constantly trying to find writers that could write professional content for cheap... doesn't happen. I even tried dropping $80 an article and that worked ok but really how much content can you do at $80 an article.

This is the way that I have developed without scamming anyone to get professional quality writing at super low prices.

1. For the best quality article write a bullet point outline and collect 1-3 links for research.
2. Hire out a basic writing service that offers one revision (I use a service that is .60 per 100 words so a 1500 word article is $9)
3. After delivery send it back for a revision say the grammar is bad (it always is) and ask for a second pass by the editor.

Now you have a basic article usually acceptable but not gonna win any awards.

When you have 5-10 articles ready go to upwork and hire a US or UK (depending on where you are) based editor high skill level. Set your budget to $10 an article so $50 for 5, $100 for 10.

I have a couple editors I always work with at this point but you can usually get a former magazine/newspaper editor to go over your article and rewrite the dumb language get the grammar perfect and fix any formatting issues.

After that process you have $19 1500 word articles that are higher quality than you can usually get for 100+

Is your editor completely rewriting the article. I've hired tons of writers and the grammar is only one of the worries. The other problem is having a writer that has good "idea flow" and "thought provoking" articles. What basic writing service offers writers at .60 per 100 words that can achieve this?

Personally I go for college students that study professional, technical, or creative writing. They're looking to grow a resume, get published, and won't mind writing for a cheap price.

I tried the collage student thing. The thing is with writing you can never buy someone that cares about what they write so it comes down to content, flow, language and grammar.

By outlining the article myself and finding useful source research I cover the content and flow. The language and grammar are never going to be right when you get a cheap article service but if they follow your content and flow they can get it good enough for a professional editor.

Typically my editors end up rewriting 30-60% of the article to get it to a professional level but it's cheaper to hire them to do that than it is to hire a journalist (everyone wants to be a journalist).

Nice idea ... I use a writing service to rewrite scraped content - and then I edit those. I did not know about upwork and I will be using them instead from now.

Personally I like Iwriter. Simply do the basic basic for 3 bucks. And be very firm in your description that you will reject any poor content, but that for well written content tell them that you will give them five stars and add them to your favorite authors. Additionally if they write exceptionally (longer than 500 words) you will in return write a longer review of how amazing their writing services are.

Then order 5-10 articles and see who actually delivers. And be sure to save the good authors to your favorite authors list. This is one of the quickest ways to build up a stable of good writers.

Another method is using services like fiverr, but be very selective. And always always look at where the seller lives. If they are from India or somewhere outside of the USA its most likely best to just not even bother purchasing (even if they have good reviews) lots of sellers on fiverr are exchanging reviews and its no longer easy to tell if they are legit. There are forums dedicated to this.

If they sell you on their service in their gig description it is likely that they have the skills to provide a good article, but unfortunately they sometimes copy and paste other peoples gig descriptions so be aware.
