Just woooow, thank you very much for such obvious but most often missed information. Posting this for reading purposes. Also sorry for nuub question and bad grammar but can you give some pointers into writing decent emails, what other basic etiquetes have I missed since the obvious : whom you are talking to question is quite obvious but a lot of 4 5 page sites make the mistake, example if you have a friendly personal tone in one email client, keep it. If you go teacher talking keep teaching. If there are other things that are so obvious please share. It saves pain in the long run. Thank you and sorry.

Do you mean you have to switch voices depending on who you're emailing?

Wow, study material... what are voices in mail letters and how to use them. I was reffering to basic etiqe. Sorry I am on phone at the moment. Let me give a example" Thank you for replying to my mesage alwaysinvizible. I apologise for my bad english. I was refering to questions and answers that a individual might inquire and how to answer them. When I send a email I want to receive one or more things from that person, a call to action, a referal, a review for the prroduct that he purchased, and not to be to obvious about it but if he reads the email he understands exactly what I would like him to do. Sorry to bring such a question to your atention and i hope you understand my phrazing. All the best from the brains of the mountain . hellrete. " something like that.

If those are the things you want you have to ask for them. People can't read your mind, especially over an email.

There is no shame in asking for a referral, a testimonial, or anything else business related. Just be professional about it.

Testimonial - "May I get a quote from you on how you enjoy working with me? I'd like to post it on my website."

Referral - "If you know of any other business owners who need a professional writer, please feel free to pass along my name and contact information."

Etc, etc.

For all you Amazon sellers I hope you are taking notes since this is gold. Especially if your native language is not English. I use google translate to " read " the email I am sending so I can check spelling. But I am at a loss on 3 accounts : " 1 be prfofesional about it and 2 how to sound gramaticaly corect and 3 " if you can and spare the time and are not to busy, please, leave a review on my product" <-- and not to sound like a 100% jakass in the process. Also this should be made in a thread for nonenglish people to follow since all of the above examples and advices are GOLD. Sorry for bothering and asking for a spoonfed llogical tutorial on the "how to write a email like a pro but not to sound like a bot in the process".

Now, under Amazon rules and regulations you are not allowed to incentivise in any way the customer into leaving a review.
The last paragraph is pushing it, how can I make it different, unique, interesting and to get him to understand that I want a review from him.
And not to push it with Amazon in any way shape or form.

From my mind it is like looking at a done deal but maybe to someone with experience in writing it looks different, because to me ...

Later edit: just remembered, under Amazon T.O.S. you are not allowed to SPAM the client in any way shape or form, maximum is 3 emails and no flags, after the 4th you start to be watched on what emails you send. So it is either home run, the client reads and dose the deed or the email is just ignored, so no pain to you.

I'm gonna tag in @LuckyCharm007 and @Jayder. I think they both work with Amazon so they can give you better perspective onnthis than I can atm.

AI, thanks for the post first of all. If I understand correctly, you don't actually see the client face to face and only keep communications via email. My question is, how do you handle contracts, get them signed, negotiated maybe ? Do people negotiate with you on the terms?

Usually they will send over their own contract. They deal with freelance writers enough to have these things in place.

I have only ever negotiated contracts through email. I usually do not have to, as the terms are already present in the contract and I've already agreed to them.

I have had to negotiate twice, and both times was for a better pay rate bc the work load became something far outside the scope of what was originally discussed and agreed upon. In both cases the client agreed to my terms, adjusted the contract and sent it to me so that I could sign it again.

As for signing, most of my clients use Docusign. Two wanted me to physically sign the contract and fax it over to them. I have no problem doing the second one but the first one is easier bc I don't have to move from my chair.

As a client, I use the following copywriter assessment checklist:
- Price lower than $0.07 per word? Done.
- Negligently formatted portfolio? Done.
- Any grammatical errors? Done
- Parenthesis overuse? Done.
- Prepositions overuse? Done.
- Bloated repetitive content? Done
- Missing counterflow? Done.

All portfolios that passed the checklist I read fully through.

It's not like you can just raise prices and start banking. Being able to write engaging content is more than important. If your content is engaging and earnings are low, that's when you should start digging into self-positioning.

Thanks for the mention, but I think this is not my expertise. There are a few different area's to earn money on with amazon - one of them is selling products on amazon.com/de/fr etc. And one of them is trough Amazon Associates (affiliate websites).
I'm more into the affiliate business.

He said the best way is to just be direct and simple. So for those of you who are wondering how to send a thank you note to your Amazon customer and ask for a review, I'll post what he PMed me later today.
