I just checked one test that I did. They were indexed after ~20 days. I have not done anything special to push indexing (I did few simple things). There was no benefit of doing this, but yeah, you can see a backlink from Google to your site if that is something that you desire.

I have a feeling that backlinks from Google don't count in Google search results. It's basically like giving a pre-medical exam and a doctor helps you cheat. Makes no sense.

Considering the majority of large websites have those google redirect backlinks (including blackhatworld), I would say there is a benefit to having them.
