How to get backlinks for long tails?

Hi guys,

Just wanted to know what your thoughts are on getting ranked for long tail keywords, I guess im looking for the best strategy, there are some keywords I am going after that only really need 10 backlinks to get ranked, some may need around 50 but i just wanted to know if theres an "easy" way to get these.

I have done article marketing before but its very time consuming, blog commenting seems to be good but I can never find a way to filter out the moderated blogs and even though I write good quality comments they never seem to get published.

You can do article marketing while using automatic tools to submit them to hundreds of directories, while they can be spun as well, so you even have different versions of the articles.

Additionally, you can create profiles on sites like forums and place your long tail anchor text.

Blog comments are good but usually your comment would not be approved if your tail is too long ;-)
 
I think also social bookmarking is a good way to get "long tail links"...
 
I have had the best luck combining a few articles and a bunch of profile links. Works pretty well if the terms are not super competitive.
 
Check out the $7 backlink thing in downloads. If you're going to do something manually, you might as well test out the new trendy way to do it.
 
Try press release, isnare, articles on ezine... These sites are scraped by thousands of sites and you could get good no of back links because of them...

You can find lots of sites which are not moderated and get you back links but these days most of them are getting used to spam and i believe soon they will be left with no link juice... You should find sites where comments are getting approved and then if you post anything useful they will approve your comments and you will get links...

Profile links, forum links, signature links are another good option... Find some good forums which are frequently crawled and you can have some good back links from them also...

There are tons of methods and lists of sites in this forum which can be used to make good back link campaign, just go through forum and you will find them...

I will mass submit and article. I spin the resource box with different long tail backlinks. Just do this until you finally start ranking for the phrases you want.

Many times it only takes a handful of articles. Just write them on any subject you want since that's easier.
