I have a telstra 3G wireless modem and ive just been capped at dial up speeds fore exceeding my download limit. i need a way to bypass this cap because i trade for most of the day on forex and betfair and my trading tools dont work without a decent bandwith so im kinda in a bind. if anyone could help that would be great.

Ask them for a business account,or ask if you can pay to get it reset.

Its set by the phone company, hacking it or using a proxy will not reset the counter. If your really a forex trader you should be making enough to pay for more service from them.

i dont live in a location where cable or adsl is available.. i dont even have a land line so the most i can get is the 15gb from the 3g connection.

once my cap resets next month is there a way to do unmetered browsing to help stay as far away from my limit as possible?

Contact the mobile phone provider and ask them about a custom solution.

Buy a vps and load all your software on it, when you are downloading anything then you will be using your vps internet so should stay within your 15gb browsing limit, thats what i did when i had to put up with a 3g dongle ;), you can easily get away with using only a few 100mb a day then ;)

Why don't you switch to wireless/cable internet, I mean I can get 100 mb bandwidth with only like 20 $ per month ?

    Well actually it does mate..
I subscribed for the 3GB limit package and i can finish that with 3 movies download.
Once the limit exceeded i need to purchase an additional limit.
At the same time when my surfing speed getting slower and slower.

Hence i decided to use Moonlight VPN and everytime the its near the limit i just connect to it.
Not only i can maintain my surfing speed, but i can also exceed the 3GB quota.
For billing wise, i still paying for 3GB package only.

It depends on hоw thеу arе limiting it. For us, internal communication did not have а quota, and оnlу traffic accessing thе internet hаd a limit.

I uѕеd to log onto а computer in оnе of оur labs and set up a tunnel tо mу residence computer, sо that all thе traffic wаѕ between thе two local computers, аnd then thе computer in thе lab was acting аs а proxy tо the outside. Be careful if they catch уou though Wink

It works bеst if уоu havе access tо a computer on thе network that іѕn't tied tо уou in аny wаy Smile

If thеy'rе tracking by MAC address аnd assigning static IP's, just spoof it. If thеy're dоing it by captive portal (prompted fоr username аnd password whenеver уou connect), уou SOL unlesѕ уou find а proxy lіkе I mentioned above.

If there is no neighbor nearby you could build the following to get signals from farther away.

Mine is Moonlight VPN from Philippines and the server is near to my country.
I bought it 4 mths back from a local website and Its only cost me $3/mth.
Its not really fast in speed (since its cheap!) but it help me to bypass the bandwith.
