They do mail verification and it must be linked to a bank account with the same postal address. Kind of hard to do anything sneaky with Google and also never try and link clicking schemes because they will bust you faster than you can wonder what happened.

Adsense application review is very strict nowadays. You need to have a proper website in the form of a well-implemented authority website to get approved smoothly.

Your blog must contain sufficient content and proper navigation for the visitors and avoid more images and flash content. then only ad sense approved your blog.
